LETTER FROM THE SECRETARY GENERAL

Dear Delegates,

It is with great pleasure I, Secretary General BITSMUN Pilani, on behalf of the organising committee welcome you to the tenth edition of Bitsmun, to be held from Friday, 2nd of February to Sunday, 4th of February, 2018.

Boasting to be one of the oldest MUN conferences of the country, we here at BITSMUN Pilani are committed to providing the most enriching delegate experience possible. With 6 different councils and an expected participation of over 300 delegates from prestigious institutes all over the country, the tenth edition shall reaffirm its dominance as the premier MUN conference in the country.

Whether you’re a veteran or a first time delegate, I am sure the conference will provide you the right platform to meaningfully engage with contemporary world issues, polish public speaking and communication skills, and become more confident and articulate global citizens.

Oldest College MUN Conference

BITSMUN is the oldest college MUN conference in India. The conference was founded in 2007, and BITSMUN 2018 will mark its tenth edition. Over the years, the conference has attracted college and school delegates from over 15 countries and all across India. The college is also famous for its humble yet iconic campus, and that itself is an experience of its own.

Cashless Committees

BITSMUN is the only MUN in India simulating cashless committees at this scale. Introduction of cashless committees is an attempt to change the incentive of MUNs as a means to win cash prizes, to rather, a means to learn and grow. Since everyone participating in such a committee has no underlying agendas, the quality of debate is considerably higher.

Good Cause

The proceeds from BITSMUN 2018 will be donated for a good cause, after expending towards the necessities for the event. If you have a cause you are passionate about and want us to donate towards, please mail us at secretary.general@bitsmun.co.in
